During the panel, the main technological innovations that have occurred in recent years in the shipping sector will be illustrated, with particular attention to the consequences they have had on work on board. The skills required to seafarers today, especially commanders and chief engineers, will be analysed together with the responsibilities these professional figures face in carrying out their work and the role of the union in their protection and support.
